Lymphoma (non-Hodgkin's)


Lymphoma (non-Hodgkin’s) FBC , differential WCC , blood film . Lymph node ( FNAB or excision) biopsy or tissue biopsy; cell immunophenotyping , lymphocyte typing - diagnosis, classification and prognosis established by histology and immunophenotyping. Additional diagnostic and prognostic information from cytogenetics and molecular genetics on biopsy specimen; protein (total), albumin, protein electrophoresis, immunoglobulins G, A, M , paraprotein analysis, LD , beta-2-microglobulin. Bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy for staging.
Nodal (lymphadenopathy) Lymph node biopsy , incl FNAB . See also Angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy under Immunoproliferative disorders .
  Classification (Working Formulation) A recent classification, the Revised European-American Lymphoma (REAL) classification is currently being modified.
    Low grade  
      Small lymphocytic  
      Follicular small, cleaved  
      Follicular mixed small and large cleaved  
    Intermediate grade  
      Follicular large  
      Diffuse small cleaved  
      Diffuse mixed small and large  
      Diffuse large  
    High grade  
      Large immunoblastic  
      Lymphoblastic  
      Small, non-cleaved  
Cutaneous Skin biopsy .
  Disseminated B cell lymphoma  
  T cell lymphoma  
    Sézary syndrome  
    Mycosis fungoides  
Visceral incl Biopsy of appropriate tissue.
  Intestinal lymphoma
